Hello, I’m Nessie, author and illustrator of Hurrah for Yum Cha and Bang Bang Noodles. Just realised I’ve never introduced myself on insta, so here I am! I was born in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 but have been living in beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand for most of my life 🇳🇿 🌿 Since becoming a mum, I really wanted my girls to grow up embracing both their Chinese heritage and their Kiwi upbringing so I embarked on a journey to create these books as the perfect way to introduce a little bit of Chinese culture in a fun relatable way 🥟
🍜 If you love yum cha or noodles or Chinese food in general, I think these books would be perfect for you and your little ones too! Written in English with Chinese vocab throughout, the books celebrate Chinese food through pictures, rhyme, rhythm and sounds.
I feel so blessed to be able to share these books with you all and it means so much to me to hear stories of families enjoying the books and taking them along to yum cha too! Absolutely love it! 💛💛💛
Keep well and stay safe everyone!
